Spring is reborn, unleashing our spirits in this magnificent musical mosaic of life and rebirth, yearning and love, both earthly and divine. Your soul will swoon to Clausen’s sparking Canticle of Praise, a jubilant fanfare celebrating all creation, and the soaring Blue Bird by Stanford along with his Three Motets. Awaken your senses to a moody Quiet Rain by Lundvik and fragrant Prairie Songs by Paulus. You’ll savor the surprising colorful opulence of Whitacre’s A Boy and a Girl, as his flavorful suspensions illuminate the wistful poetry of Octavio Paz. From the heart of our tradition, Celestial Spring by F.M. Christiansen uplifts the reawakening soul – “soul arise, you’re heavenly born” – in The Spirit’s Yearning, Exaltation, Regeneration, and Glorification. An evocative new work, Prayer, based on the words of Mother Teresa, rounds out a splendid serenade at Nativity of Our Lord Church.
